Everyone knows an RS6 Avant will go fast through fresh powder, but what car will shock the most people when it passes them on the road to the ski hill? Despite the Dodge Charger R/T AWD being the obvious choice, show us in the comments.

SHO Taurus would be a good pick as well. It's like a budget A6.

Few do it as well as the Maine Black Bear.

Vanagon Westy with a Jetta engine swap. Rear engine, rwd, heavy as sin, surprisingly well planted as operated by a ski instructor buddy of mine. You never expect a Westy to park you as you are mincing your way up to the lifts.

If that's a sleeper, I want to see what the rest of your garage looks like.

I'm not sure even Senna could race this in powder without immediate death.

Well played.

Choose your own adventure, any Audi with an 'S' in its name. S4, S5, S6, S7, S8. Bonus points if you add an R to the front, triple bonus if you follow it with Avant

Seeing an Audi
Surprised it's good in the snow
Not being delusional

Yeah, but I've driven its platform mate (flex) in heavy snow and it was a bit scary. It was getting all over the place. It'd definitely need snow tires.

Nothing listed here would be a sleeper to those of us in the know...
If my mother saw an S6 Avant go blasting by here in a foot of snow she'd be shocked

I used to run a Dodge stealth AWD with blizzaks up around Tahoe in the winter. Fun car to go fast in the snow!
![]() 12/02/2013 at 16:24 |

Not the same dynamics as the Flex but a great set of snows makes one hell of a difference!

To most people, the Mazda 323 GTX looks like your average subcompact with a bodykit and wheels. It's actually a specially built Group A homologation special with all-wheel-drive, reinforced chassis and a turbo and intercooled 1.6L turbo.
